MKV / MK5 A90 TOYOTA SUPRA GR AIR INTAKES AND ACCESSORIES
Usually seen as the first step, and/or entry level performance, the air intake is a very common performance upgrade, especially on the MK5 MKV A90 Toyota Supra GR. An aftermarket air intake system can help increase flow for lower intake temps, a louder turbo spool, and improve engine bay aesthetics.
An intake upgrade unlocks a more fierce sound on the A90 Toyota Supra. The factory intake contains two sound deadening pieces to keep the turbo quiet. The factory intake box and the turbo inlet piece contain components to their design that keep the turbo and air pull sound to a minimum. Some intakes just replace the top box and filter portion, leaving the oem inlet piece, and some replace it totally. The units that provide a full replacement will be louder. If these full pipes are carbon fiber, they can help reduce a heat soaked intake path and improve intake air temps, (IAT), as well. Not all intakes are created equal!
