About You
1. Tell us a little about yourself — name, where you're from, and what you do when you're not wrenching on the Supra.
My name is Nick, and I’m a Navy veteran living in Northern Virginia. Outside of work and cars, most of my time is spent with my wife, our two dogs, and our cat. Family is a big part of my life, and we enjoy finding new places to eat, traveling, and just spending time together.
I’m also a huge foodie, a gamer, and a LEGO fan. When I do get some time for the Supra, you’ll usually find me in the garage, at a meet or show, or just finding an excuse to take it out for a drive.
2. What got you into cars, and why the A90 Supra specifically?
My car obsession started young — spending countless hours playing Need for Speed and watching The Fast and the Furious fueled my passion for tuning and car culture.
I came from a 2015 Subaru STI, which I loved, but I was looking for the next level in performance and styling. When the A90 Supra dropped, I was hooked. It delivers modern sports car performance, distinct body lines, and an incredible aftermarket platform that allows me to truly build it my way without blending into the crowd.
The Story
3. When did you get the car, and what was the moment you knew you had to have it?
I picked up the Supra in Fall of 2022. I had been looking to upgrade the Subie for a bit and had seen the Supra a couple times around, but never really made an effort to go see one at a dealership. Once I actually sat in one and drove it, I knew I was going to regret it if I walked away. It wasn’t just “I want a new car.” It was one of those cars that I immediately started picturing what I could do with it.
4. What was your vision for the build when you started — and did it end up where you expected?
Honestly, the original vision was nowhere near what the car became. I originally just wanted a clean, tasteful Supra with a few mods to make it my own. Then one mod turned into another, and eventually I realized I wanted the car to have an actual story behind it instead of just being another modified Supra. That’s where the P-38 Lightning theme came in. My grandfather was a P-38 pilot during WWII, so I wanted to build something that paid tribute to him while still looking like a legitimate car build. The wrap, the nose art, the number 166, and the details throughout the car all tie back to that.
So no, it definitely didn’t end up where I expected — but I’m much happier with where it ended up.
5. Was there a moment during the build that stands out — a big win, a headache, or something that almost made you quit?
The biggest moment was probably seeing the finished wrap for the first time. You can have an idea in your head for months, but seeing the P-38 design actually on the Supra was completely different. That’s when it really felt like the build had become something unique. There have definitely been headaches along the way too. Anyone who’s modified a car knows that one thing never stays “just one thing.” Parts don’t always fit the way you expect, things need to be adjusted, and the list of things you want to change somehow keeps getting longer. But I’ve never really wanted to quit. Even when something is frustrating, I usually just step back, figure it out, and keep going.
The Build

Suspension: Fortune Auto Adjustable Lowering Springs

7. What's your favorite part or mod on the car, and why?
Without a doubt, the wrap. I love the way the car looks, but there’s actually a reason behind it. The nose art, “The Rat,” and the aircraft number 166 aren’t just there because they look cool. There’s meaning behind them. That’s what makes the car special to me, and honestly, that’s something no other modification could really replace.
8. What's next for the build — anything on the wish list?
There’s always something next. I’m trying not to fall into the trap of changing things just for the sake of changing them, so anything I do from here needs to make sense with the overall theme. I’d like to continue refining the little details and eventually add a few more custom touches that tie the Supra even closer to the P-38 inspiration. There’s also always the temptation to go further with performance, but for me the car is more about the overall build and story than chasing a huge horsepower number – for now.

The Fun Stuff
9. How do you use the car — daily, track, shows, weekend cruises?
I daily drive it and take it to shows and weekend cruises around the area. I don’t track it as I built it as more of a show build, but I would like to take it to the track at least once.
10. Any advice for someone starting their own A90 build?
Don’t try to build someone else’s car.
There are so many amazing Supra out there that it’s easy to look at Instagram and start buying whatever everyone else has. Take inspiration from other builds, but figure out what you actually like and what you want your car to be.
And don’t feel like you have to do everything at once. Start with the things that matter most to you and build from there. Most importantly, enjoy the car. It’s really easy to get caught up in mods, numbers, and trophies and forget that the reason you bought the Supra in the first place was to have fun with it.

Building a car around a personal story, like honoring a grandparent's service, shows how much meaning comes from making choices your own way. Seniors in Henderson assisted living might enjoy that same freedom, perhaps decorating their apartments with keepsakes or photos that reflect their own history.
